A thermocouple is a circuit that consists of two different wires or alloys, welded in their ends, and an electromotive force (E.M.F.) appears between them due to the effect of temperature.

A thermocouple allows knowing the temperature in its union T1 by connecting it to a measure instrument.

Thermocouples are used as probes in control or regulation measures of temperature in materials put under heat treatements.

There are several kinds of thermocouples, depending on wire composition, that also depends on the temperature to measure and its exposition time. Previous section supedites the diameter of wires to use.
